Today has been one of the longest days of the year so far. It has been incredibly slow.
I have decided that even though I completely procrastinated, I am still going to send the artist residency application. I know that I am not going to get in, because I haven't produced any new artwork, but what the hell.
I am sure today was a beautiful day, I am jealous of anyone who gets to work outside in nice weather.
So I started a real Journal.
Don't worry loyal internet fans, I am still going to be bored at work. There will always be time for internet blogging.
I feel that because of everything that has happened in the past six months that I am just not comfortable putting personal thoughts online anymore.
Again, don't worry, I will always make sure to post all of my hijinks!

thank you so much baby Jesus
11am-3pm...
and I am salary...
thank you so much baby Jesus
I have too many full-time obligations
Well it has been a few days.
Decemberists was fun, David went with us and it was really great to see him.
David also subjected us to his "spring mix" which was pretty awesome, and featured Hall and Oats...
I haven't been drinking as often as I was, so drinking on Tuesday took a lot out of me.
The bike riding has been great, and my body already feels so different. I keep making it to main campus in less and less time.
I really do have so much more to say, but I am tired and work is busy...
Everyone cross your fingers for me getting my residency in on time.

money money money
So tomorrow is the Decemberists show.
I had a dream last night for all of these drawings I want to do...
it was really exciting!
I rode my bike to main campus this morning.
It was pretty fantastic.
I thought I was going to write more but I just don't have much to say...

atleast I saw a home run today
So this weekend I was sick
Like gross puking sick.
It was cool until my stomach ran out of food, yet my body still wanted to puke...
In other news my bike rides really nice and I just rode it home, and West Philly has some "sick" inclines.
I missed Pat's comedy show, and though I was informed there was a whole sketch on Rocky Balboa, Kelly also told me it was cramped and people were allowed to smoke... so I made the right choice...
I also got my hair "did"
It looks nice.
Lessons I learned this weekend:
- As soon as you feel sick, bring you blanket to the living room
- If someone offers to come over when you are sick, let him or her come over
- Ikea trashcans are expendable; don't try to make it to the bathroom
- "Copper hair" also looks like a March beer
- Pat Kelly is funny and I missed it
- DON'T PLAY ON THE ESCALTOR EVER!
- Screw the Philadelphia Inquirer the new modest mouse albums fantastic.
- Kelly rules for getting me pre-day of birth Modest Mouse tickets
- John leaves funny phone messages
- I love Lucy helped promote lung cancer
- DON'T EAT BURRITOS, BACON EGG AND CHEESE SANDWICHS, OR WATER ICE when sick (especially number two)
- Riding your bike everywhere makes you smell bad

The helpful help desk
I am currently on hold with the help desk.
I looking around online and I find this!

Got tickets to go see 300 at the Imax tonight...
Let's see how that works out.
Went to Kelly's last night and cried in her kitchen really loudly, for several reasons, only one of them had to do with how horrible the flyers are doing this season... Kelly made fried ravioli which was amazing...
I think fried ravioli is hilarious because it was like americans sat down and thought
"Ravioli is good, but how can we make this more American..."
I am also getting a new bike today!
Nothing has worked out lately in my favor, but maybe in the next couple of weeks things will turn up... Always look for that half full glass... but not with beer in it!
Ok... A little beer...

Wing-ageddon
Last night's wing consumption was pretty "off the hook"
Wings were good, Rory got stinko, Bob is always great company...
We have decided to make Tuesday night
"Wing-ageddon"
We will eat wings every tuesday night and start the night be Listening to AC/DC and pretending the end of the world is coming...
Last night we also went to McGlinchy's* (That is probably spelled wrong but it is the kind of bar that doesn't deserve me looking up the spelling)
Things that suck about McGlinchy's:
-They still smoke inside the bar (Gross)
-New sweatshirt smells like smoke
-The toliet in the ladies room def. has AIDS on it
-The place smells like old beer and throw-up
-The customers smell like old beer and throw-up
-They don't round down, they actually will charge you 4.10 (serious)
-The bar has absolutely NO CHARM if you are not drunk (since I am not drinking until the big summer party I was not drunk)
-The jukebox is not up to my standards...
The waitress there does have just the right type of surliness.
okay I actually have to work
lame

oh no
So I am in my office, and I am moving around fixtures and re-arranging the store again, and again because I keep getting bored at work,
but
back to me sitting in my office...
So I am sitting in my office and pick up a paint brush that is on my desk,
I don't know why, but I start playing with it...
So the brush is really close to my face and I can smell the handle...
the handle smells like lady parts...
I am completely grossed out...
and then I made rory smell it...
I have to wash my face...

Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, Baby, I got the feelin'
I think I have written about him before, but god I love the Temple shuttle driver!
Today not only did he play ALL of my favorite James Brown songs (RIP) I got to over hear his philosphies on life and how to be happy.
I am so glad people like that man are alive.
Last night Rory and I went and got 10cent wings at Manny Brown's.
The list of events:
-Last night was the first time going to Manny Brown's
-The wing night was not crowded at all, we even got a booth
-The wings are like baby wings. They must snatch up baby chickens and cut their little arms off...
-I ate baby chicken arms!?!
-Rory and I had a lot of really good conversations
- WE ORDERED 50 F'in wings, I looked at Rory and he was like "watch that really isn't a lot" after seeing the baby wings (refer to points 3&4) I understood how 50 wings would not be a lot of wings.
- Eating wings last night made us realize that we have to go to 25 cent wing night tonight with bob... and "Do it right"
In other news,
This friday is Pat's comedy show, anyone who is near the Italian market will shoot themselves in the foot if they do not go to this event. Pat is hands down one of the funniest people alive!
I think the event cost 8 dollars and is BYOB...

Listening to weezer is so wrong, that it is right
So I am back from the trade show.
Boy was the a bunch of not fun.
However, Howard and I do have the whole temple team saying, "we have to do it right"
Which was funny. I am going to make everyone tee shirts at the studio so we never forget our horrific time at the airport.
The trip made me realize a lot of things, since I got to spend a good deal of time by myself.
1) I have neglected myself terrible, physically the girls in this company were really over-weight and I have gained weight since working for B&N... Gross...
Thur I am getting a bike, I have completely changed my eating habits, and yes I am not drinking until the big "First day of summer" party.
2) I have neglected my artwork. I haven't made anything worth while in a long time... I have not worked on the artist residency that I really wanted, and I haven't made anything that will get me into one of the most competitive programs in the country... so that needs to change immediately.
3) The Lea that has been floating around for the past month or two is not the normal Lea. I have been so cynical, so crabby, so closed off from people. I have let myself get completely emotionally entangled in a bunch of b/s. That is not my character what so ever. Well it is kind of my character, but I have never let it effect my day to day life. Unfortunately I am going to have to kill off a lot of relationships in my life that have grown uncomfortable and unhealthy. Moving away is going to help some of that, realizing what I really want, need and deserve from the people I surround myself with will be another.
4) I have become financially irresponsible. I am spending money like I own the company I work for, not like an employee of the company. Because I have been depressed I have been eating out all the time, buying stuff that I don't need, or buying things for people that they don't need. I have to really think about where I stand fiscally and how my spending is going to effect my move.
As much as I complain about working and my job, I am glad that I haven't had anything handed to me. I have worked hard for the things I have and I am ashamed that I have started taking these accomplishments for granted by spending money unnecessarily.
I had many interesting conversations with MB over the course of the five (then six) days that we were in Florida. I am really happy that I know her. She really is a fantastic person. I am also sad to know that I make people in her life upset because she spends time with me. That has been the standard order of operations at that store. I have never in my life had my genuine interactions with people become such a point of negativity before. It is really hard on my heart to think that people resent my time with people I care about.
In other news, my store has an excessive about of No-Doz.. Didn’t the FDA ban them? I think that the Tyler School of Art might be pushing drugs!

SOFTBALL SUNDAYS
EVERYONE AND ANYONE
Kelly, Jon and Myself are trying to start a softball team that plays on sundays.
Think of all the fun people!
We are going to call the team "the Potatoes" or
"the Taters" for short.
If you are interested send me a message so we can pick a time and proper place.
Right now we are meeting at the field in between Fitzwater and Bainbridge.

my hair is frizzy
I am at my wits end.
These past couple of months have been such a roller coaster that I am about to get sick all over my life.
When did I become the kind of person that compromises my life?
When did I become the kind of person that curbs what she writes about online or talks about in real life?
Just when I think I am starting to understand the human race, I get blind sided.
I have been told I am crazy, but I really didn't understand how crazy I am.
I am guilty of things that I have judged others so harshly for.
When I mentioned about to get sick all over, I think I mean...
I have gotten sick
it is everywhere
and I need to find a way to clean it up or hide it as soon as I can.

GRUMBLE
What is with the G/D snow!
I don't want to go outside in this!
This is horrible!
I am boycotting the snow in hopes that it will go away forever and ever!
In other news,
300 comes out
Possible mid-night showing experience
I cannot handle it!

I live my life like a B list celebrity
This weekend was ridiculous...
Friday, start drinking around 7ish after getting HUGE burritos
Five beers later Mario Party begins
Rum gets involved and so does my neighbor.
We make it world 7 on Mario, sans whistles!
All decide (or maybe just me) that we need to "nap"
because at 3 in the morning we have to drive Ruff Duffington to New York
because he needs to go to Japan
So he can slap a japanese business man.
Napping did not happen,
what happened was Rachael, him and myself goofed off with my cat
and acted a fool in my bed (not unlady like fools, like little kid sleep over fools)
So at three in the morning we departed for New York with a much needed trip to
WaWa.
Rory's flight was at 7:10
we made it
6:25 (yikes)
Rachael and I had no return directions
and at 7 in the morning
travelled around manhattan until we found a tunnel sign
MADE IT BACK BY 8:25!
(sorry duffy I drove the shit out of your car)
To make it back at Ant's Pants for breakfast by 9
and to the doctors by 10
(which made me a half hour late for my appointment)
To fall asleep at 1pm
to get up and go to a concert with the cyphers
to come back home
stay up till 4
to get up again and get breakfast
with kelly by 10
BUT
at 10am
I saw a HEAD ON COLLUSION!
where a driver was thrown OUT THEIR FRONT WINDOW!
so needless to say we made it to breakfast later than planned
After breakfast Kelly found a parcheesie game for free in a free box on someones porch (I know that is spelled wrong but I have never played the game...)
but I was told there no one could be "green" in the game because the pieces were missing
we went to some fantasy facial place at Rittenhouse
I denied the lady trying to give me free samples
because I saw how expensive those products are and I didn't want to get hooked!
After dropping Kelly off at the her house
I stopped by Rachael's and Shawna's
to find out
WE ARE ALL GOING TO THE TRACK.
So like surly old people we were down at the track
betting on ponies
I went down to get close to the horses
picked ALL the winners!
but didn't place any bets!
we ended up at a "red robin"
which I didn't like!
then back to Shawna's
to watch Arrested development
where I got tired and went home to take a nap
talked on the phone for a little bit
and went to bed.
